CTRC is located in southeast Longmont on Highway 52, five miles west of
I25. CTRC
maintains a herd of over 30 horses and each week serves 150 participants with disabilities year-round. The Barn Assistant helps the Barn Manager meet horses' needs for food, water, shelter, health/first aid and safety. Oversee the volunteers that turn in/out horses and muck stalls. Assume primary responsibility for daily feeding, turn-out and turn-in. Stock grain, supplements, and supplies. Help maintain all the horse areas for cleanliness and safety. Under the direction of the Barn Manager, assist with first aid and with seasonal Equine Care schedule. Communicate closely with the Barn Manager if problems or questions arise. This position is physically demanding, requiring the ability to regularly lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Most of the work day is spent outside in all weather conditions. This position requires some work on holidays, weekends, and/or evenings including covering for Caretaker vacation days.
