Job Description

Overview Non-Profit Equestrian Center seeks a part-time riding instructor/barn staff position. @ 20 hours per week. Join a professional team and dynamic center providing equine-assisted services. It is an exciting opportunity to combine your passion for equestrian activities with teaching and caring for horses. You will lead mounted and unmounted lessons for individuals and small groups, assist with barn maintenance, and ensure a safe, engaging environment for riders of all ages and skill levels. This position is perfect for energetic individuals eager to inspire confidence, promote safety, and foster a love of horses while working in a supportive nature-filled environment. Duties Conduct engaging mounted and unmounted lessons tailored to various skill levels. Assist with daily barn chores such as feeding, grooming, tacking up horses, and maintaining cleanliness of the facilities Monitor rider safety at all times, enforcing proper riding techniques and behavior management strategies Provide instruction on horse care, safety protocols, and riding techniques/skills Communicate effectively with clients, parents, and team members to ensure a positive experience for all participants Maintain accurate records of lessons, rider progress, and equipment inspections Exercise/train horses as needed Requirements Extensive experience working with horses and advanced level riding experience mandatory Previous experience working with children in educational or recreational settings is highly desirable PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor a plus Strong communication skills to clearly instruct and engage participants of diverse ages and backgrounds Knowledge of horseback riding techniques and safety procedures; certification in basic first aid and CPR is preferred Familiarity with behavior management strategies to foster respectful and safe riding environments Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions; physical stamina for barn duties such as lifting and standing for extended periods Join us to make a positive impact on individual lives while enjoying the rewarding environment of working with horses!
Pay:
$19.00 - $21.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 per week
