Bartender (Full-time) Denson Liquor Bar Washington, DC Job Details Part-time | Full-time $15.50 an hour 13 hours ago Benefits Paid training Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications Bar sanitation Guest relations Bar cleaning Bar supply restocking Interpersonal skills In-person customer service Beverage garnish preparation Bartending Mise en place Bar opening procedure Teaching Bar closing procedure Full Job Description Currently, we are looking for someone to join our team on a long term basis starting as soon as possible. We are specifically looking to fill 2 bar shifts for certain (Tuesday & Friday) with the potential for picking up and switching shifts as needed. (Potential to gain/earn additional shifts is available.) We're excited to post that we have a bartender position open at Denson Liquor Bar. Denson is a subterranean cocktail bar with the aesthetics of a 1930's, art deco hotel lobby bar, but with a vibe much more contemporary. Our primary focus is on creating a truly fantastic experience for our guests, aided by our great hospitality and wonderfully curated cocktails. Inside Denson, it's dark, fun and comfy with no TVs, and each bartender and server has the knowledge to either help the guests understand the concept of the cocktails on menu, the flavor profile of certain classic cocktails, or find out what steps it takes to help the guest create the custom cocktail that fits them best. Yes, we love cocktails. But, we love creating a space for our guests to unwind and relax more than anything else. We're looking for a candidate that is a team player above all, ideally with at least 1-2 years of experience in making cocktails (whether it was the focus of your last bar program or just a component), has a strong work ethic, and is ready to learn each day (none of us will ever know everything). However, if your work experience is much more limited, that's okay, we still love the chance to develop new talent by teaching new bartenders.
The basic job requirements are:
- Bar prep before shift which includes fresh juices, garnishes, making component ingredients, batching certain cocktails.
- Excellent cleaning and restocking at the end of each shift (Heavy on the closing bartender).
- Ability to multitask, as in making cocktails for service bar as well as engaging with guests seated at the bar.
- Kindness to everyone always.
