Position Overview The Bartender is responsible for supporting the seamless operation of the bar through excellent product knowledge, consistent execution, strong sales skills, and sincere hospitality. This role ensures that every drink served meets Imoto standards while cultivating an engaging, polished, and inviting guest experience. Imoto's intimate setting requires Bartenders to provide attentive, personalized service while demonstrating strong knowledge of our cocktail, sake, wine, and food programs. The Bartender also upholds operational excellence, cleanliness, and compliance with all bar-related procedures and policies. Key Responsibilities Guest Experience & Service Provide maximum level of guest service according to expectations outlined in the training manual and Sequence of Service. Use soft-sell and recommendation techniques based on thorough knowledge of cocktail, sake, food, and wine menus. Promote a friendly, polished, and efficient experience at all times. Build rapport with regulars and first-time guests alike, using tailored hospitality. Respond quickly and positively to changing guest needs. Confidently guide guests through Imoto's food and beverage offerings and make thoughtful recommendations based on guest preferences. Bar Operations Prepare the bar for service prior to pre-shift and attend all pre-service meetings. Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and the entire bar area. Ensure bar is fully stocked at all times and maintain accurate par levels; communicate supply needs to management. Execute drink orders accurately, consistently, and in accordance with defined recipes and portion standards. Maintain strong working knowledge of Imoto's cocktails, sake, wine, spirits, and other beverage offerings. Perform opening and closing duties as assigned. Monitor and follow all liquor control procedures and licensing regulations. POS and Financial Responsibilities Ring in all orders accurately using Toast POS; no drinks or items served without proper entry. Maintain accurate financial records of shift including comps, voids, and guest notes. Check identification for guests under 30 and follow alcohol service compliance protocols. Compliance & Cleanliness Adhere to daily and weekly cleaning checklists. Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and full, correct uniform at all times. Treat company property with care and attention. Stay up to date on legislation regarding health, hygiene, and licensing laws. Team Contribution Collaborate with the bar team, floor staff, and kitchen to ensure a unified and smooth service. Assist fellow team members when needed. Complete all assigned side work thoroughly and consistently. Communicate any guest issues or service challenges promptly to management. Qualifications Ability to read, speak, and understand English clearly. Knowledge of basic arithmetic and portioning. Excellent memory, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Strong cocktail, spirits, wine, and beverage knowledge preferred. Sake knowledge preferred. Japanese food knowledge preferred. Sushi and sashimi knowledge preferred. Previous experience in an upscale, fine-dining, craft cocktail, Japanese, or Asian restaurant environment preferred. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and navigate a fast-paced environment. Proficient in Toast POS or willing to be trained. Able to remain calm under pressure and provide warm, attentive service. Able to climb stairs and bend/reach for stocking and setup. Why Join Imoto Coral Gables?
