Job Description

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Within the spirit of "Making People's Dreams Come True", this position is responsible for preparing food drink orders serving to patrons as regulated by state and federal age requirements and coordinating lounge/bar activities. The position also delivers Raving Fans customer service to both internal and external customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Alcohol Awareness Certification (must comply with State regulations).
  • Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; develop alternative solutions and uses when dealing with emotional topics.
  • Manage difficult or emotional customer situations; respond promptly to customer needs and requests for service and assistance.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism; treat others with respect and consideration regardless of status or position.
  • Knowledge of and ability to appropriately interpret and follow policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of and ability to adhere to safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Present and express ideas and information clearly and concisely in a manner appropriate to audience whether oral or written.
  • Meet the demands of the work schedule to be at work and on time. May occasionally require the ability to work outside of regularly scheduled hours. Schedules may vary based on business needs.
  • Check identification of customers to verify age requirement for purchase of alcohol.
  • Present menu, answer questions and take food and beverage orders from guests and/or serving staff.
  • Prepare drink orders including wine, liquor, and beer.
  • Monitor seating in lounge/bar area ensuring all guess are served.
  • Compute bill and accept payment; track and balance sales receipts.
  • Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customers' excessive drinking by taking steps such as discontinuing alcohol service and notifying management of potential problem(s).
  • Clean bar work areas and tables as well as glasses, utensils, and bar.
EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent high-volume serving experience.
  • Must obtain Food Handler's Certification.
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers, copiers and fax machines.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must remain professional, responsive and cooperative at all times and consistently produce quality work while meeting deadlines.
SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or portfolio specific training to co-workers.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from Management, Staff and guests. English is required for oral and written communications (bilingual, Spanish speaking a plus).
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions of this position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. This position requires prolonged hand and wrist movement/usage. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme hot and cold environments, risk of burn due to extremely hot liquids, and chemicals used in the cleaning process. Also exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and vibration due to office equipment. The noise level in the work environment is loud.
