Job Description
Position Summary Lead Bartender to oversee bar operations while delivering exceptional guest experiences. The Lead Bartender serves as a role model for the bar team, ensuring high standards of service, beverage quality, cleanliness, and compliance with all alcohol service regulations. This position combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on bartending in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to company recipes and quality standards. Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with guests in a friendly, professional manner. Lead, mentor, and support bartenders and barbacks during shifts. Assist with scheduling, training, onboarding, and performance coaching of bar staff. Ensure the bar is clean, organized, stocked, and operating efficiently throughout each shift. Monitor inventory levels and communicate ordering needs to management. Perform inventory counts and assist in controlling beverage costs and minimizing waste. Verify guest identification and ensure responsible alcohol service in accordance with all local and state laws. Maintain knowledge of current drink menus, seasonal cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits. Handle guest concerns professionally and resolve issues promptly. Assist with opening and closing duties, cash handling, and end-of-shift reconciliation. Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and company policies. Collaborate with managers and kitchen staff to create a seamless guest experience. Qualifications Minimum of 2-3 years of bartending experience, with previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Extensive knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and remain composed in a high-volume environment. Excellent customer service and conflict-resolution skills. Experience using POS systems and handling cash accurately. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Must meet all legal requirements for serving alcohol in the applicable jurisdiction. Preferred Qualifications Bartending certification (where applicable). Experience with inventory management and ordering. Knowledge of craft cocktails and mixology. Food Handler's Permit and alcohol service certification, if required.
