Job Summary Join the Hangar 9 team as a Barback, where you'll be the backbone of a dynamic venue ensuring smooth service and a welcoming environment. Your energetic support will help bartenders deliver exceptional experiences to guests while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in the beverage service within a lively, fast-paced setting. Hangar 9 is a music venue located on the strip in downtown Carbondale. We host a variety of events including local bands and DJs, traveling performers, fundraisers and private banquet events. If you thrive in a fast paced, team-oriented atmosphere and enjoy contributing to memorable guest experiences, this role is perfect for you! Responsibilities Assist bartenders by restocking bar supplies, garnishes, and glassware promptly to keep the bar fully equipped during busy hours Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including cleaning glassware, bar surfaces, sinks, and storage spaces in accordance with food service bar safety compliance standards Buss tables and clear empty glasses or dishes from guest areas efficiently to ensure a tidy environment Handle manual lifting of heavy supplies such as kegs, cases of beverages, or bulk ingredients safely and efficiently Communicate effectively with team members and guests to ensure smooth venue beverage service and uphold excellent customer service standards Experience Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred, especially within bars or catering settings Familiarity with venue beverage service and bar cleaning routines is advantageous Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with team members and engaging positively with guests Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently is required Previous experience working late hours is beneficial This role offers a lively work environment where your proactive attitude and attention to detail will shine.
