Job Description

Taste 222 . Located in Chicago's vibrant Fulton River District, Taste 222 is an upscale, chic restaurant, mixology station, and dynamic event venue. In this dual role, you will elevate the guest experience by delivering warm hospitality, serving innovative Contemporary American cuisine, and crafting exceptional full-tilt and zero-proof cocktails. Key Responsibilities Elevated Guest Service:
Greet guests warmly, manage a dual section of bar and dining tables, and provide knowledgeable menu descriptions of our food and beverage creations.
Mixology Station Execution:
Efficiently mix, garnish, and pour premium spirits, wine, beer, and curated craft cocktails (including zero-proof selections) to brand standards.
Private Events & Flow:
Support a busy flow of weekday lunches, happy hours, and high-end private corporate/civic events booked across our unique venue spaces.
POS & Cash Handling:
Process guest transactions flawlessly using our point-of-sale system (Toast ), accurately manage open tabs, and split bills seamlessly.
Compliance & Standards:
Check IDs to verify legal drinking age and adhere strictly to all Chicago and Illinois alcohol safety laws.
Team Operations:
Complete necessary opening, closing, and restocking side work to keep the bar and lounge meticulously clean, organized, and inviting.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
2+ years of experience working simultaneously or sequentially as a bartender and server in an upscale, polished casual, or high-volume dining environment.
Cocktail Knowledge:
Strong command of classic and contemporary mixology, craft beer trends, and wine pairings.
Chicago Certifications:
Must hold a valid Illinois BASSET certification and an Illinois Food Handler card.
Schedule Availability:
Open availability Monday through Friday for lunch, and happy hour shifts. (
Note:
Our restaurant is primarily open weekdays, but flexibility for weekend private venue buyouts is a plus!)
Attributes:
Polished professional presentation, proactive teamwork, and excellent communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits Base Pay:
$15.00 per hour
