Barback Juniper | Highwood, IL Job Details Join the Team at Juniper Juniper is a Modern American restaurant with a dedicated sushi program in the heart of Highwood, led by Executive Chef Todd Stein, whose career includes leadership within Ballyhoo Hospitality and concepts including Sophia Steak, Pomeroy, Coda di Volpe, Gemini, and more. We're building a team of hospitality professionals who believe great restaurants are built through genuine hospitality, teamwork, urgency, and attention to detail. We are currently looking for an energetic, dependable, and hardworking Barback to support our bar team and help keep service running smoothly throughout the evening. The ideal candidate understands that a great barback is an essential part of a successful bar. You should be organized, proactive, quick on your feet, and willing to jump in wherever needed without waiting to be asked. Responsibilities Keep the bar fully stocked throughout service, including liquor, wine, beer, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and other supplies. Refill ice wells and maintain appropriate ice levels throughout the shift. Polish, organize, and replenish glassware. Assist bartenders with maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Remove empty bottles, trash, recycling, and dirty glassware promptly. Restock beer, wine, liquor, juices, syrups, garnishes, and other bar products as needed. Assist with opening and closing bar duties. Maintain cleanliness of bar stations, storage areas, coolers, and service areas. Anticipate bartender needs during high-volume service. Communicate clearly with bartenders, managers, and other members of the service team. Follow all sanitation, safety, and responsible alcohol-service procedures. Help wherever needed to support a smooth and successful guest experience. What We're Looking For Strong work ethic and sense of urgency. Dependable and punctual. Ability to stay organized in a busy, fast-paced restaurant. Team-first mentality and willingness to help others. Strong communication skills. Ability to lift, carry, and move cases, kegs, ice buckets, and other bar supplies. Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods.
