Full Job Description Club Information:
White Eagle Golf Club opened in 1989 and is a full-service member-owned private country club located in Naperville, IL. The mission of the Club is to provide a premier private golf and social experience for its members, their families and guests, by offering high-quality services and facilities in a fiscally responsible manner. Originally designed by Arnold Palmer, the Club offers 27 holes of golf that are set on approximately 163 acres in an upscale residential community. The three nine-hole courses are challenging and impeccable, allowing White Eagle to build a rich history of hosting prestigious golf tournaments. Job Summary We are looking for a personable and multitasking Server/Bartender to join our dining team. In this role, you'll be the face of the club's social hub, where members come to relax after a round of golf or a day at the pool. We need someone who can balance high-energy service with a friendly, "home away from home" attitude, ensuring every member feels like a VIP. We are looking for a service professional who can lead by example and uphold our clubs' standards while maintaining a fun and upbeat environment.
Key Responsibilities Create Relationships:
Build genuine rapport with members. You aren't just taking orders; you're the person who knows their "usual" drink and asks how their golf game went.
Fast-Paced Versatility :
Pivot quickly between pouring draft beers and craft cocktails behind the bar to running casual fare (burgers, wings, salads) to patio tables.
Standards :
Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting bar and dining area. Even in a casual setting, the "Club Standard" for cleanliness and organization applies. Maintain a professional demeanor with both staff and members alike.
Effortless Upselling :
Suggest seasonal drafts or the chef's daily special in a way that feels like a friendly recommendation rather than a sales pitch.
Simple Transactions :
Accurately ring in member house accounts and guest charges, ensuring the billing process is seamless and unobtrusive.
Team Support :
Be a "team-first" player, help run food for others, clear empty glassware quickly, and keep the ice bin full during the midday rush.
Requirements & Qualifications Experience :
1+ year in a casual dining restaurant, sports bar, or country club setting. The "Vibe" : Outgoing, approachable, and high-energy. You should enjoy a social work environment and be able to handle a "rush" with a smile.
Knowledge :
Solid understanding of beer, wine, and standard cocktails (Transfusions, Margaritas, Gin & Tonics).
Reliability :
Dependability is key—our members look forward to seeing their favorite staff on their regular visiting days.
Physicality :
Ability to stay on your feet and move quickly between the bar and outdoor dining areas/patios.
