Equine Recovery & Barn Assistant This is a full-time position with competitive benefits. This position requires candidates to have a minimum of two years of horse handling experience other than their own horses. Experience handling Thoroughbreds or other high-energy breeds is preferred. The hours are daytime, generally Monday through Friday with one weekend day required as well as seasonal overtime requirements (caseload dependent). The hours will have a set start time but require a flexible end time. This position is physically taxing, and candidates must be able to consistently lift 75-125 lbs. The Equine Recovery Assistant plays an important role in helping horses safely recover following surgery and anesthesia. They also assist with stall cleaning and barn chores in the mornings before heading to recovery for the day. Starting wage is dependent on previous experience.
