JOB SUMMARY

The Bartender is a part-time position at Owensboro Racing & Gaming, a premier gaming and entertainment destination in Owensboro, Kentucky. This role is responsible for preparing and serving beverages in a prompt, courteous, and efficient manner while delivering an exceptional guest experience. The Bartender ensures compliance with all state and local alcohol laws, company policies, and applicable gaming regulations. This position also maintains the cleanliness, organization, and appearance of the bar area while helping create a fun, welcoming, and engaging atmosphere for our guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and portion standards. Provide prompt, engaging, and exceptional customer service to all guests. Set up and maintain the bar area, ensuring it is fully stocked with liquor, mixers, glassware, ice, garnishes, and other necessary supplies. Monitor guest alcohol consumption and follow responsible alcohol service policies to ensure guest and staff safety. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, equipment, and storage areas in compliance with health and safety guidelines. Safely operate bar equipment (e.g., blenders, taps, ice machines). Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of beverage stock to maintain freshness and quality. Collect payments and accurately process transactions through the point-of-sale system. Verify guest identification to confirm legal drinking age per state regulations. Report customer incidents, spills, or equipment issues to management promptly. Assist with inventory management by notifying supervisors of shortages or restocking needs. Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and gaming facility policies. Assist in training new bar staff and provide guidance as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain availability to work weekends, holidays, and nights.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to mix and prepare beverages accurately and efficiently. Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices. Ability to operate bar equipment safely. Strong attention to detail and cleanliness standards. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Basic math and cash-handling skills. Ability to follow policies, procedures, and gaming regulations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum of one year of experience as a Bartender or in a similar role. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

Regularly required to stand, speak, hear, use hands, and reach with arms. May occasionally be required to sit. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color and depth perception, and peripheral vision. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Work conditions vary:

Office areas: moderately quiet.

Gaming floor:
