Pressed Cafe is an emerging, high-growth premium quick-casual restaurant company with a strong regional presence and exciting expansion plans. Our all-day menu features Mediterranean-inspired dishes made with fresh, local ingredients, paired with great coffee and fast, friendly service. As a founder-led organization, we remain deeply committed to hospitality, culture, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. We're looking for an experienced Lead Bartender to join the team at our new Beverly, MA location. This role is ideal for a bartender who enjoys being behind the bar, takes pride in hospitality and beverage execution, and naturally leads by example. Our Beverly bar brings a slightly more elevated feel to the Pressed Cafe experience — an intimate, speakeasy-inspired atmosphere, craft cocktails, beer and wine, and a curated selection of premium spirits and whiskeys. As Lead Bartender, you'll be a key presence behind the bar, helping set the standard for beverage quality, organization, hospitality, and consistency, while working closely with restaurant leadership and the Pressed Cafe Beverage Program team. Because Pressed Cafe is a cafe-first concept with a bar component, this role will also support the broader team and cafe operation when needed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and serve craft cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits with consistency and attention to detail Deliver friendly, efficient, and attentive hospitality to guests at the bar and throughout the cafe Lead by example behind the bar and help maintain a high standard of beverage execution Follow Pressed Cafe cocktail recipes, presentation standards, and beverage specifications Help train and onboard bartenders on recipes, service standards, and bar procedures Serve as a knowledgeable resource for the bartending team during service Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar Monitor bar pars and communicate inventory and product needs to restaurant leadership Help maintain proper product rotation and minimize waste Complete opening, closing, and daily bar-sidework procedures Follow all food safety, responsible alcohol service, and applicable alcohol regulations Work closely with restaurant leadership and the Beverage Program team to support consistent execution of the bar program Help create a welcoming and elevated atmosphere for guests dining in, enjoying the bar, or visiting the patio Support cafe operations during slower bar periods and contribute wherever needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous bartending experience required Lead bartender or high-volume bartending experience preferred Strong knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits Strong hospitality instincts and a genuine enjoyment of interacting with guests Ability to lead by example and positively support fellow team members Strong communication and organizational skills Excellent attention to detail and commitment to consistency Ability to stay calm, positive, and efficient in a fast-paced, high-volume environment Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 45 lbs Alcohol service certification or willingness to obtain
