Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Lead Bartender to lead our bar team and create a welcoming, memorable experience for our guests. Working closely with the General Manager, you will oversee daily bar operations, supervise and mentor bar staff, and manage ordering and scheduling while working regular bartending shifts. This hands-on position is ideal for a dependable, organized bartender who leads by example and takes pride in quality drinks, excellent service, and a well-run bar. The Lead Bartender reports to the General Manager, who retains overall management responsibility. Duties Lead and supervise bar staff during shifts, maintaining friendly, efficient service in a fast-paced environment. Prepare and serve cocktails and other beverages with consistent quality, presentation, and portion control. Help develop cocktail recipes, seasonal specials, and beverage menu updates in collaboration with the General Manager. Create and manage bar staff schedules, coordinating coverage and staffing needs with the General Manager. Manage inventory and stock rotation for spirits, beer, wine, mixers, and supplies; place orders within approved budgets. Monitor beverage usage, minimize waste, and help control costs. Train and mentor staff on beverage preparation, guest service, safe food handling, and opening and closing procedures. Process payments accurately through the POS system and follow cash-handling procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and fully stocked bar. Follow applicable food safety and responsible alcohol service requirements. Address guest questions and concerns professionally, involving the General Manager when needed. Support special events and private parties as needed. Experience and Skills Solid previous bartending experience is required. Previous experience as a lead bartender, bar supervisor, or in a similar hospitality leadership role. Experience with bar inventory, ordering, and staff scheduling. Strong knowledge of mixology, spirits, wine, and beer, with an interest in beverage recipe development. Excellent guest service skills and the ability to engage customers warmly and professionally. Ability to give clear direction, mentor team members, and hold staff accountable to service standards. Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail during busy shifts. Familiarity with POS systems and accurate cash handling. Basic math skills for inventory counts, ordering, and payment processing. Knowledge of safe food handling and responsible alcohol service practices. Availability to work [evenings, weekends, and holidays]. Applicable alcohol service certification, if required.
