High-Volume, Fast-Paced Dining & Sports Bar Position Overview Uptown Grille is looking for an energetic, experienced, and highly organized Bartender to join our team. As a key face of our operation, you will deliver exceptional hospitality, craft high-quality beverages efficiently, and maintain a clean, welcoming, and safe bar environment. We are a high-volume establishment, so the ideal candidate thrives under pressure, multi-tasks effortlessly, and works seamlessly alongside both front-of-house and back-of-house staff.

Key Responsibilities Beverage Preparation & Service:

Promptly and accurately prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages (cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits) adhering to standard recipes and quality specs. Maintain speed of service during peak volume rushes without compromising drink quality or presentation.

Customer Service & Hospitality:

Welcome all guests warmly, assess their needs, make recommendations, and take food/drink orders with a positive, engaging attitude. Cultivate regular clientele by providing attentive, professional, and personalized service.

Cash Handling & POS Operations:

Accurately ring up orders, manage tabs, and process cash and credit card transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system. Balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts with high accuracy.

Bar Maintenance & Cleanliness:

Keep the bar top, service wells, and guest seating areas spotless and organized throughout the shift. Restock liquor, beer, wine, glassware, ice, garnishes, and paper goods continuously. Perform opening, mid-shift, and closing sidework and cleaning checklists thoroughly.

Safety & Compliance:

Strictly adhere to all state liquor laws and responsible beverage service guidelines (e.g., checking IDs, monitoring guest consumption levels, and cutting off intoxicated patrons when necessary). Maintain health, safety, and sanitation standards behind the bar at all times.

Qualifications & Skills Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of bartending experience in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant, bar, or nightlife venue.

Knowledge:

Strong mixology knowledge, beer styles, wine pairings, and familiarity with standard bar equipment.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency with modern restaurant POS systems.

Physical Stamina:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8+ hours), lift up to 30-50 lbs (kegs, cases of liquor/beer), and bend, reach, and stock regularly.

Soft Skills:

Exceptional communication, a team-oriented mindset, grace under pressure, and a strong sense of urgency.

Availability:
