Job Description

Marrow in the Market is looking for a motivated and passionate bartender/server to round out our team. Marrow in the Market is a Butcher's Brasserie that brings together everything we love under one historic roof: a retail butcher shop with visible craft in action, a large dining room serving elevated comfort classics inspired by French, English, and American traditions and designed for sharing, dual bars (The Butcher Bar on the main floor serving lunch and casual dinner, and City View Lounge on the second floor with skyline views), weekend brunch, world-class private dining, workshops, events, and more.

Whether mixing innovative cocktails, recommending fine wines, or delivering outstanding customer service, you'll be at the heart of our lively atmosphere. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, hospitality-focused environment that values enthusiasm and professionalism. Responsibilities Prepare and serve a variety of beverages including cocktails, craft beers, wines, and spirits with precision and flair. Develop and refine beverage recipes to enhance our menu offerings and meet guest preferences. Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests, taking orders accurately, and ensuring their satisfaction throughout their visit. Manage POS systems to process cash transactions efficiently and accurately. Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in all bar and serving areas while adhering to food handling regulations. Assist with food service duties during busy periods, including serving dishes and supporting catering or banquet events. Manage bar inventory, restock supplies, and ensure proper storage of beverages and ingredients. Demonstrate knowledge of fine dining etiquette, mixology techniques, wine pairings, and beverage trends to elevate guest experiences. Requirements Proven experience in bartending or serving within the hospitality industry, preferably in fine dining or high end bar settings. Strong knowledge of POS systems for processing transactions smoothly. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables or bar stations efficiently during peak hours. Skilled in beverage recipe development, cocktail mixing, wine knowledge, and spirits expertise. Previous experience with food safety practices and proper food handling procedures. Ability to deliver outstanding customer service with a friendly, energetic attitude that energizes the team. Familiarity with brewing processes or craft beer offerings is a plus; experience in banquet or catering environments is beneficial. Basic math skills for retail math calculations like change handling and inventory management. Strong communication skills coupled with a passion for hospitality that creates welcoming environments for all guests. Bartender Skills and Qualifications:

Bartenders must have classic and craft cocktail knowledge. Familiarity with base spirits, beer and wine is also required. 3+ Years of experience. Commitment to Marrow's vision and dedication to the team are the most essential qualifications for all employees. Members of FOH staff should enjoy hospitality and have a desire to learn and grow in the field. Marrow is a pooled house, where servers and bartenders split the daily pool evenly by hours worked.

Compensation:

Bartenders are compensated at a competitive tipped wage.

Reports to General Manager, Lead Bartender.
