  • Kalamazoo, MI Holiday Inn & Suites Kalamazoo West is looking for energetic, professional, and service-driven individuals to join our Food & Beverage team as Bartenders.

Schedule:
Please note that this position requires flexibility and availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands require.
Bartender shifts:
Approximately 4:00 PM

) General Summary Our Food & Beverage team plays an important role in creating a welcoming and memorable experience for every guest. Team members are expected to provide friendly, attentive, and professional service while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hospitality, and guest satisfaction. We are looking for individuals who take pride in hospitality, work well as part of a team, and genuinely enjoy serving others. Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required Previous bartending, restaurant, customer service, or hospitality experience preferred Must meet the minimum age requirement to serve alcohol in the State of Michigan Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong guest service and problem-solving skills Professional appearance and positive attitude required at all times Ability to remain calm and professional during busy or stressful situations Basic math and cash-handling skills required Ability to understand and follow company policies and procedures Must successfully complete TIPS Certification and any required food safety training Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide exceptional guest service in a friendly, professional, and attentive manner Greet and acknowledge guests promptly Take food and beverage orders accurately using the POS system Prepare and serve beverages, including alcoholic beverages, according to company standards Maintain cleanliness and organization of the restaurant, bar, lobby, and banquet areas Restock supplies, garnishes, beverages, and service items as needed Open and close bar areas according to hotel procedures Handle guest payments and accurately complete cash handling and end-of-shift reports Follow all alcohol service laws and company policies, including checking IDs and preventing over-service Identify signs of intoxication and professionally address situations when necessary Upsell beverages, menu items, and specials to enhance the guest experience Support fellow team members and contribute to a positive work environment Follow all safety and sanitation standards Respond appropriately to guest concerns and notify management of any complaints or incidents Complete side work, cleaning duties, and assigned checklists Follow hotel emergency and safety procedures Perform other duties as assigned Working Conditions This position operates in a restaurant, bar, and public hotel environment. Team members must be able to: Stand and walk for extended periods of time Lift and carry up to 10 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs with assistance Work in areas where temperatures may vary Bend, reach, push, pull, and move throughout the shift as needed
