Non-Exempt (Hourly) Position Summary The Bartender is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with company standards while providing professional guest service. This position ensures compliance with all company policies, state and federal alcohol regulations, and health and safety requirements. Key Responsibilities Prepare and serve beverages according to established recipes and portion standards Take food orders and serve Provide courteous, prompt, and professional service to all guests Accurately process cash, credit card, and room charge transactions using the POS system Verify guest age in compliance with state alcohol service laws Monitor guest alcohol consumption and refuse service when appropriate Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of bar areas, equipment, and glassware Complete opening and closing side work as assigned Maintain appropriate inventory levels and notify management of shortages Comply with all health department, fire, and safety regulations Follow company policies regarding cash handling and loss prevention Support banquet and special event bar operations as needed Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly Key Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous bartending experience preferred Knowledge of standard cocktail preparation, beer, and wine service Ability to operate POS systems and basic office equipment Valid alcohol service certification (as required by state or local law) Serve safe certification Competency Customer Service Orientation Attention to detail Professional communication Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Reliability and punctuality Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand movements Work Environment Fast-paced hospitality setting Exposure to moderate noise levels Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
