We're looking for an enthusiastic, skilled, and patron-focused bartender to help us continue delivering unforgettable nightlife experiences. This is a part-time position requiring open availability most Friday and Saturday nights from 5 PM-3 AM and some weekdays each week. Candidates must be 21+ and have at least one year of bartending experience in a fast-paced bar environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for patrons Greet and interact with customers, take orders, and ensure a positive patron experience Assess customer preferences and make drink recommendations Mix and craft cocktails with accuracy and consistency Maintain knowledge of current bar menu and specials Verify customer identification to ensure legal drinking age Restock, rotate, and replenish bar inventory and supplies Keep the bar clean, organized, and compliant with health and beverage regulations Stay patron-focused and contribute to a fun, safe, and welcoming environment Skills & Requirements Proven bartending experience (minimum 1 year in a fast-paced bar required) Strong knowledge of drink preparation, garnishes, and service standards Must be comfortable working solo on weekday shifts and confidently handling patron issues, de-escalation, or coordinating patron removal when necessary Excellent communication and customer service skills • Upbeat, outgoing personality with strong positive energy — someone who enjoys engaging with guests and contributing to a fun nightlife atmosphere • Interest in helping host or assist with special events is a plus Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to remain calm under pressure Ability to multitask and maintain bar organization Willingness to learn, adapt, and take on additional responsibilities in certain situations Must be at least 21 years old Availability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays Benefits High guest volume means excellent opportunities to earn strong tips Employee discount Flexible scheduling A fun, high-energy, inclusive work environment Equal Opportunity Statement Martha's Vineyard is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
