Job Description

Position Overview We're looking to add a part-time bartender (beertender) to our close-knit team. This is an hourly tipped position for 2-3 shifts and averaging between 10-20 hours per week. This bartending position will mostly be weekday afternoon shifts (Tuesday - Thursday, 2:30 - 8:30 pm) with occasional weekend coverage needed. Brewery Overview BLK MTN Brewing (BMB) is a small lager-focused nano craft brewery located in the heart of Downtown Black Mountain, NC. Founded in 2017 and opened in 2018, our brewery quickly became a staple of the Black Mountain community as a "Third Place" for locals and popular attraction for our town's frequent visitors. The incredible Roberta Flack mural on our building is one of the most photographed images in Black Mountain, but the other side of the wall is where the magic happens. Our five-barrel brewhouse is located inside our taproom to provide an unique behind-the-scenes to break down the barrier between process and product. At BMB we provide guests not just with crisp lagers and smooth ales, but also excellent experiences through elevated service. At BMB we provide guests not just with crisp lagers and smooth ales, but also excellent experiences through elevated service. Bartender Position Bartenders are a crucial component of BLK MTN Brewing. Bartenders are our most public-facing staff and serve as the contact point for our customers with our business. Although the quality of our product is important, the interaction with our bartenders is often the determining factor in the enjoyment of our customers. Bartenders at BLK MTN are responsible for more than just pouring beer, but in creating an atmosphere that promotes our core values of Safety, Service, Look, Community, and Quality. Responsibilities of Bartenders include, but are not limited to: Taking orders, entering orders into our point of sale system, and ringing up customers Opening and closing duties Pouring beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages for guests Interacting with guests outside of simply taking orders Providing tasting notes, recommendations, and personal preferences Assisting in the maintenance of taproom & patio cleanliness Complying with all NC ABC rules and regulations regarding the sales of alcoholic beverages Cleaning and restocking glassware, ensuring that glassware in use is properly cleaned Tapping kegs and removing empty kegs as needed Staying up to date on BMB's current offerings & upcoming events Giving recommendations for other establishments/activities for visitors in the Black Mountain area Other duties related to bartender functions as assigned Qualifications include: Craft beer knowledge Bartending experience Customer service skills Performance-oriented disposition Responsibility, reliability, and accountability Age of 21+ This job requires extended periods of standing and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Pay:
From $14.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 - 20.0 per week
