Cary, NC Job Details Full-time $10 an hour 9 hours ago Qualifications Guest relations Wine knowledge High school diploma or GED Cleaning Team motivation (leadership skill) Full Job Description •tips are included in pay range- base rate of $10/hr• As a Bar & Lounge Server Assistant/Food Runner of The Umstead Hotel and Spa, the primary function of this position is to ensure guest satisfaction by delivering both hot and cold food to the Lounge guests in a timely manner as well as supporting Servers and Bartenders on the floor and with Back of House (BOH) tasks.
Responsibilities for this position include:
Report to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in a clean uniform. Accurately Expedite and run food from kitchen to Bar and Lounge, both Hot and Cold foods. Organize and communicate with staff in a manner to accurately deliver the proper food to the proper tables for both restaurant and Bar/lounge. Assist in the clearing and resetting of tables. Coordinate activities with Servers to execute a smooth flowing dining experience for guests. Display a cordial, accommodating, and hospitable disposition while interacting with guests. Assist with In Room Dining service and performing duties in the kitchen, as assigned. Transport supplies as needed. In addition, other duties may be required as directed by your Manager. High school or equivalent education required Must have a minimum of 1 years experience in a similar position. Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasks. Must be a self-motivator and motivator of others. Must work in a safe, prudent and organized manner. Must have a good knowledge of food and preparation. Must have or quickly acquire a good knowledge of wine. Must be able to relate to all levels of guests and management. Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks occasionally.
