The ideal candidate will excel in creating a welcoming environment for guests while expertly preparing and serving a variety of beverages. This role requires a strong focus on customer service, efficient multitasking, and precise drink presentation. The successful applicant will contribute to an engaging atmosphere, ensuring guests enjoy memorable experiences in both fine dining and lively nightlife settings. A background in food and beverage service, along with familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha and Micros, is essential to succeed in this role. Responsibilities Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages accurately according to standard recipes and customer preferences Maintain a clean, organized bar area adhering to food safety and sanitation standards Engage with guests professionally, providing exceptional customer service to enhance their experience Manage cash handling, POS transactions, including Aloha POS and Micros POS systems, with accuracy Monitor inventory levels of bar supplies and communicate needs for restocking Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and responsible serving policies Assist with setup and breakdown of bar areas for events such as banquets or nightclub functions Support catering operations by serving beverages efficiently during events Demonstrate knowledge of the food industry trends, brewing techniques, and beverage pairings Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth service flow during busy periods Experience Previous experience working as a bartender in fine dining establishments, nightclubs, or banquet settings preferred Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently through excellent time management skills Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS Strong customer service skills with an emphasis on hospitality excellence Experience handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations Knowledge of food safety standards, food handling procedures, and responsible alcohol service Background in food service or restaurant environments is highly desirable Basic math skills necessary for cash handling, sales tracking, and inventory management Experience in catering or large-scale event service is a plus Perks and Details We have events most nights of the week though Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday's tend to be the busiest Events are typically at venues or hotels near and in Jersey city, North or Mid Jersey Most jobs allow for cash tips to be collected Some jobs will have a corporate tip but it is taxed We pay direct deposit every Friday Very flexible scheduling
