All bartenders at any Smith restaurant prioritize connecting with guests and their community, and building regulars. Bartenders work in the front of the house preparing and serving drinks and food and keeping an impeccably, well stocked bar area, including liquor room and bar walk-ins. A bartender at Smith is energetic, confident, has a strong knowledge of alcoholic beverages and time management skills. They can communicate efficiently and effectively with a diverse group of guests. Commitment, enthusiasm, integrity, humility, sense of team, and grace under pressure are required. Roles and responsibilities include Preparing alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for bar and patrons Interacting with customers, taking orders, and serving snacks and drinks Assessing bar customers' needs and preferences and making recommendations Promoting programming and special events; sharing the story of sister restaurants with their guests Checking identification up to ABC and Smith standards Restocking and replenishing bar inventory and supplies Complying with all food and beverage regulations Processing payments Properly clocking in and out for shift at kiosk terminal. Ideal skills and attributes Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks Computer literacy Positive attitude and excellent communication skills Ability to keep bar organized, stocked, and impeccable Ability to multitask and move with urgency and intention in a fast-paced environment Able to lift 20 to 50 pounds Able to stand, walk (up and down flights of stairs), reach, for 100% of work time Move around 160 pound kegs
