In this multifaceted position, you'll be the friendly face welcoming guests, supporting bartenders with bar supplies, and maintaining a clean, organized dining environment. Your enthusiasm and organizational skills will help create a lively, welcoming atmosphere where guests feel valued from the moment they arrive. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your hospitality skills while contributing to a memorable dining experience for all. Duties Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservation check-ins using restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS. Escort guests to their tables, ensuring efficient seating arrangements and accurate waitlist management. Assist bartenders by restocking bar supplies, cleaning glassware, and maintaining a well-organized bar area (Barback duties). Clear and reset tables promptly after guests leave, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for new diners. Support servers and bussers by delivering food and beverages efficiently, while maintaining excellent guest relations through friendly communication. Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, including sweeping, wiping down surfaces, and organizing service stations in accordance with food safety standards. Handle phone communication professionally for reservations or guest inquiries, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills. Experience Previous experience as a host or hostess in a fast-paced restaurant environment is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm and a positive attitude! Food service experience including familiarity with restaurant reservation management systems like Toast and Opentable is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently during busy hours. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and creating welcoming atmospheres. Basic math skills for handling reservations, managing waitlists, and processing guest requests accurately. Knowledge of restaurant table management systems and POS systems such as Toast and Opentable will be advantageous. Understanding of food safety standards and proper sanitation procedures to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
