Part-time Job Summary:
The purpose of this position is to interact with guests and ensure they have an exemplary experience while at any of Shea's venues. Bartenders are responsible for mixing and serving drinks to guests in a friendly and efficient manner. Bartenders are expected to be attentive to guest's needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, and relaxed always.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Clean/set bar ensuring all appropriate liquors, mixers, garnishes, and paper products are stocked. Drink menus/signs are to be clean and visible to guests. Have knowledge of all liquors, beers & wines served at Shea's, have a solid understanding of how to mix all standard cocktails and how to prepare all featured cocktails. Warmly welcome all guests at the bar, offer drink suggestions, accept, prepare, and deliver order in an expedited manor. Tabulate bill and collect payment from guest (American Express, Discover, Mastercard or Visa, cash, or Shea's Gift Certificate). Clean bar immediately upon guest leaving. Always be prepared for the next guest. Encourage guests to place preorders for intermission. Prepare said drinks at appropriate time so drinks are fresh for guests. Perform daily and weekly cleaning tasks as needed or as assigned by manager on duty. Assist coworkers. Adhere to New York State Liquor Law, follow proper Identification procedures ensuring all guests who are drinking are of legal drinking age (21), never serve guests who appear to be intoxicated.
Qualifications:
Be able to communicate clearly and effectively. Have a basic knowledge of beverage service - including beer, wine, and cocktails. Possess basic math skills and the ability to handle money and operate a POS system. Be able to work on your feet, standing and walking, for a long period of time. Be able to safely lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Be punctual and reliable.
Compensation:
$10.70/hour + tips
