BARTENDER JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary The Bartender at Villa Roma Resort is responsible for providing exceptional beverage service while maintaining the highest standards of mixology and guest satisfaction. This position requires extensive knowledge of drinks and cocktails, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The role demands both technical expertise and interpersonal skills to create an outstanding bar experience for guests. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Beverage Service Operations Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages Create specialty cocktails according to recipes Monitor guest alcohol consumption Process drink orders from servers Maintain cleanliness of bar area Stock and organize bar supplies Handle guest payments accurately Inventory and Quality Control Monitor inventory levels Maintain proper storage of beverages Track par levels of liquor and supplies Assist with weekly inventory counts Ensure proper rotation of products Monitor product quality and freshness Report inventory needs to management Administrative Duties Complete opening and closing procedures Maintain accurate cash handling Process credit card transactions Prepare daily sales reports Document any incidents or concerns Participate in staff meetings Follow all ABC regulations Guest Service and Safety Check identification for age verification Monitor guest consumption levels Maintain professional interaction with guests Handle difficult situations diplomatically Ensure responsible alcohol service Maintain clean and safe work environment Report safety concerns promptly Required Qualifications Must be 21 years of age or older High school diploma or equivalent Valid alcohol service certification Strong mathematical abilities Excellent communication skills Physical stamina for extended standing Cash handling experience Preferred Qualifications Previous bartending experience: 1 year Knowledge of wine and spirits Experience with POS systems Cocktail creation expertise Fine dining experience Food handler's certification Physical Requirements Extended periods of standing Frequent bending and reaching Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Manual dexterity for mixing drinks Clear speaking voice for guest interaction Working Conditions Fast-paced bar environment Evening and late-night hours High-volume guest interaction Weekend and holiday scheduling Variable noise levels Exposure to alcohol and cleaning products Schedule Options Full-time and part-time positions Evening and night shifts Weekend availability required Holiday rotation mandatory Flexible scheduling needed Key Competencies Mixology expertise Guest service focus Multi-tasking ability Time management Problem-solving skills Team collaboration Cash handling accuracy ABC regulation compliance
