Assistant Sommelier

Position Overview:

Tucci's is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Sommelier Assistant to join our team to help support our efforts in delivering an exceptional brand experience to our customers. The Sommelier Assistant is responsible for supporting the Director of Wine in daily wine service, learning and accurately presenting wine lists to guests, assist with inventory management, supporting wine tastings and educational sessions for staff, and provide exceptional guest service ensuring a memorable dining experience for patrons. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about wine, has a strong background in food and beverage service, and enjoys engaging with guests to share their wine knowledge. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop expertise in fine dining and expand your skills within the food and beverage industry.

Key Responsibilities:

You will gain invaluable experience assisting our Director of Wine, learning about wine regions, varietals, food pairings, proper service techniques, and cellar management Assist with inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and organizing wines in the cellar. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the wine cellar, storage areas, and wine service equipment. Develop foundational knowledge of wine regions, grape varietals, vintages, and food pairings through dedicated training Provide exceptional guest service, anticipating the needs and ensuring a memorable dining experience for patrons Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards as mandated by Tucci's and local regulations Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

This entry level position is perfectly designed for individuals with a passion for wine and hospitality Growth mindset; enthusiasm for learning and becoming more knowledgeable Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities Must be able to handle fast paced environment and multiple tasks efficiently Ability to lift and carry wine cases (up to 40lbs) and stand for extended periods during shifts. Must be available 3-4 nights per week and most major holidays. Rarely will be scheduled during the day. (Average of 25-30 hours per week)

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Sommelier 1 Certification preferred but not required. Willingness to be trained to become a wine professional. We will pay for Sommelier1 licensing. Engaging and personable

Pay:
