Moraine Country Club is seeking an experienced hospitality professional to join our Food & Beverage team as a Service Captain . This is a hands-on, flexible position that combines serving, bartending, and shift leadership . The Service Captain will regularly be scheduled for serving and bartending shifts and, based on the needs of the Club, will also be scheduled to lead select à la carte lunch and dinner shifts and assist in leading club and private events. We are looking for someone who loves à la carte dining and takes pride in creating an exceptional service experience. The right person is energized by a busy dining room, enjoys building relationships with members, and understands the details that turn good service into great service. They should be equally excited to serve or bartend as part of the team and have the experience, confidence, and initiative to step into a leadership role when scheduled as Captain. Responsibilities Provide polished, attentive service to members and guests as a server and bartender Lead select à la carte lunch and dinner shifts when scheduled as Service Captain Help direct servers, bartenders, and support staff during Captain shifts Monitor the pace and flow of service and communicate with the culinary team Coach and support employees in real time when leading the floor Anticipate member and guest needs and assist with service concerns Lead or assist with select club and private events Support event setup, execution, and breakdown as needed Complete opening, closing, and side-work responsibilities Maintain Moraine's service standards regardless of the role assigned that shift What We're Looking For Previous experience in a full-service, upscale restaurant, private club, hotel, resort, or similar hospitality environment Country club or private club experience strongly preferred Serving and bartending experience Previous captain, lead server, supervisor, or leadership experience preferred Strong food, beverage, and service knowledge Comfortable transitioning between serving, bartending, events, and shift leadership Professional, dependable, organized, and confident interacting with members and guests Ability to recognize what needs to be done and step in wherever needed Full availability required, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and events based on Club operations Compensation $10/hour base wage + participation in the Food & Beverage tip pool. Tip pool earnings vary based on business levels and typically add approximately $12-$20/hour, resulting in typical total hourly earnings of approximately $22-$30/hour. This is an ideal position for an experienced hospitality professional who enjoys serving and bartending but is also ready to take on additional leadership responsibility.
