Job Description
Overview Provide excellent, fast-paced customer service by taking and delivering food and drink orders, processing payments, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Key duties include greeting guests, recommending menu items, handling cash and credit card transactions, and communicating with kitchen and bar staff, while adhering to responsible alcohol service laws. The role requires the ability to multitask, stand for long periods, and work evenings, weekends, and holidays. We are especially looking for nights and weekends, focusing on OSU football and NFL football. Responsibilities Greet and seat guests promptly, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Take accurate food and beverage orders using Toast POS. Provide detailed menu information, including daily specials and upselling opportunities. Serve food and beverages in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of presentation. Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their dining experience and address any concerns promptly. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including bussing tables as needed. Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines during food handling and preparation. Process payments accurately, handling cash and credit transactions with basic math skills. Qualifications Previous experience in the food service industry, preferably in dining or nightclub settings. Not required. Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha, Micros, Toast or OpenTable is highly desirable. We use Toast. Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and satisfaction. Culinary experience or knowledge of food preparation techniques is a plus. Understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation practices. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. Basic math skills for accurate order processing and cash handling.
