Description Position Summary Join the team behind the energy of Chinook Winds Casino Resort! As a Barback, you'll play an essential role in delivering exceptional guest experiences by ensuring bartenders have the products, supplies, and support needed to provide efficient, high-quality beverage service. Barbacks work in a fast-paced, high-volume casino environment and are cross-trained to support multiple beverage venues based on business needs, providing opportunities to develop skills and grow within the Beverage department. Essential Functions Deliver outstanding guest service by creating a welcoming, engaging, and memorable experience for every guest. Maintain exceptional speed, accuracy, and organization while transporting, stocking, and replenishing beer, liquor, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and other bar supplies. Supports bartenders by maintaining fully stocked, clean, and organized bars to ensure efficient beverage service during high-volume operations. Monitor product usage, assist with inventory counts, minimize waste, and maintain accountability for beverage inventory and supplies. Adheres to all OLCC regulations and Chinook Winds Casino Resort policies and procedures regarding alcohol service. Restock bar inventories throughout each shift to ensure uninterrupted beverage service. Wash and properly store glassware while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards. Stock ice bins, replenish garnishes and supplies, remove empty containers, and maintain clean, organized workstations throughout the shift. Maintains, transports, and delivers products, beer, liquor and wine inventory to bar and service locations. Assist with setup, operation, and breakdown of portable bars for special events, casino promotions, banquets, and convention center functions. Remove trash, recycling, empty boxes, and used glassware to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work environment. Recognize and anticipate bartender and operational needs to maximize service efficiency during peak business periods. Work collaboratively with bartenders, beverage servers, kitchen staff, and leadership to provide seamless guest service in a fast-paced casino environment. Performs all duties in accordance with Chinook Winds Casino Resort guest service standards and all applicable policies and procedures. Build product knowledge and confidently recommend beverages, promotions, casino events, and resort amenities to enhance the guest experience. Contribute ideas to improve service, operational efficiency, and the overall guest experience. Assist bartenders with gaming floor beverage operations as needed to ensure timely guest service. Experience One year of guest service, food and beverage, hospitality, restaurant, hotel, entertainment venue, or casino experience preferred. Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment is strongly preferred. Certificates & Licenses Must obtain a Siletz Tribal Gaming License. Must have OLCC Alcohol Service permit before the start date. Must have a Food Handlers Permit within 30 days of the start date. Must obtain VIP (Visibly Intoxicated Person) Permit within 45 days of the start date. Other Requirements Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures. Ability to safely lift, transport, and stock beverage products throughout the shift. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining exceptional guest service. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods while performing frequent lifting and carrying of heavy items, bending, and reaching. Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Other Physical Requirements Vision:
Near and Far Sense of Sound Sense of Smell Work Environment Work will take place in a lively, fast-paced gaming environment with multiple distractions where guest interaction is constant, and service volumes are high. Some or all of work may take place on the gaming floor. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud with frequent movement. The environment is subject to smoke and the associated effects. Working Conditions Conditions of employment include passing a pre-employment drug screen, a background investigation, and completing a 180-day introductory period.
