Job Description

About Us Palm Vintage is two restaurants in one room. From 7 AM to 4 PM we're a café — espresso, pastries, sandwiches, the kind of place the neighborhood and the residents upstairs come to every morning. At 5 PM the room turns over, the lights come down, and we become a Japanese sushi restaurant with a full craft cocktail bar, running until midnight on weekdays and 2 AM on weekends. We're at 1414 South Penn Square, at the base of the Ritz-Carlton Residences, steps from City Hall. It's an intimate space — dining room, bar and patio — which means there's no back corner to hide a table in. Every seat is visible, every plate and every glass is on display, and the details land. That's the standard we're building around. We open this September. Everyone we hire over the next few weeks is opening team, which means you won't be inheriting someone else's systems. You'll be helping build ours. The Role We're hiring 3-5 barbacks. You're the reason the bar can move fast, and we staff and treat the role that way. For the right person this is a genuine path to bartending here. What You'll Do Keep the bar stocked, clean and ready throughout service — glassware, ice, garnish, napkins, straws, backups Stay ahead of the bartenders rather than reacting to them. Anticipate what runs low on a busy Saturday and replace it before anyone asks Support the ice program and keep garnish prepped and presentable Assist with opening prep, batching and syrup production Break down deliveries, rotate stock, and keep bar and liquor storage organized Handle closing breakdown, sanitation and restock so the next shift opens clean Support bartenders through peak and late-night volume, especially weekends What We're Looking For Some bar or restaurant experience Fast, aware, and able to read what the bar needs before it's said out loud Physically up for a busy late-night shift with lifting and restocking Reliable and easy to work alongside Someone who wants to learn the bar and move up. Tell us if that's you
