Senior Barback About Us Gooseneck Vineyards is a growing winery and hospitality destination set within a beautifully restored piece of Rhode Island history. Our mission is to create memorable experiences through exceptional wines and warm, polished hospitality. We are seeking a Senior Barback who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in organization and preparation, and understands that exceptional guest service starts with a well-supported team. The Role The Senior Barback is a key operational position responsible for keeping Gooseneck Vineyards' bars, service stations, and hospitality areas stocked, organized, clean, and prepared throughout service. This person should be able to anticipate what the team needs before they have to ask for it . On busy days, the Senior Barback may support multiple bars and service areas and will work closely with Wine Ambassadors and leadership to keep operations moving efficiently. While this is primarily a bar-support position, Senior Barbacks may also step behind the bar and pour wine or assist with beverage service when needed. What You'll Do Bar & Beverage Support Set up and fully stock bars before service Continuously replenish wine, beer, ice, glassware, water, mixers, garnishes, napkins, cups, and other supplies Monitor inventory throughout the shift and restock proactively Support multiple bars and service areas during high-volume periods Retrieve backup products and supplies quickly when needed Keep Wine Ambassadors supplied so they can remain focused on guests Pour wine and assist with beverage service during busy periods or when directed by leadership Understand proper wine pours and basic Gooseneck Vineyards wine offerings Assist with breakdown, cleaning, and proper storage at the end of service Cleanliness & Organization Keep bars, back-bar areas, storage spaces, and service stations clean and organized Collect, wash, polish, and redistribute glassware Remove trash, recycling, empty bottles, and used glassware throughout service Monitor trash cans and replace liners before they become full Help maintain clean guest tables and hospitality areas Ensure supplies and equipment are returned to their proper locations Guest Experience Maintain a friendly and professional presence around guests Assist guests or connect them with a Wine Ambassador when needed Provide friendly and efficient wine service when assisting behind the bar Help keep guest areas clean, welcoming, and presentation-ready Step in wherever needed to help the team deliver seamless service Senior-Level Responsibility The Senior Bar Back is expected to go beyond waiting for instructions. Anticipate the needs of each bar and service area Prioritize tasks based on business volume and urgency Communicate clearly with Wine Ambassadors and managers Identify low inventory or operational issues before they impact service Help newer bar backs understand Gooseneck's setup, stocking, and cleanliness standards Take ownership of assigned areas from setup through closing Remain calm, efficient, and dependable during high-volume service What We're Looking For Previous restaurant, bar, winery, brewery, catering, or hospitality experience preferred Strong work ethic and sense of urgency Highly organized and observant Able to anticipate needs rather than waiting to be asked Comfortable occasionally pouring wine and interacting directly with guests Comfortable working independently and as part of a team Positive, professional, team-first attitude Reliable and punctual Weekend and holiday availability Ability to stand and move for extended periods and safely lift/carry cases, ice, supplies, and other bar inventory Compensation & Benefits Compensation within the range is based on experience, availability, responsibilities, and applicable tip participation. Pay:
$20.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 35.0 per weekBenefits:
