Job Description

Job Summary Active competition and training barn in Landrum, SC is seeking part-time afternoon barn help. Applicants should have prior experience working in a professional barn atmosphere. Reliable transportation and great work ethic a must! This position will report directly to our Barn Manager and will be working with an established team to care for 13 horses. Duties include feeding, cleaning stalls and paddocks, turning in and out, maintaining cleanliness of the facility, and assisting in other areas as needed. The schedule is somewhat flexible regarding days of the week, but shifts run from 3-5 PM in fall and winter, 4-6PM in the spring and summer months. Responsibilities Care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and monitoring their health and behavior. Maintain cleanliness of barns, stalls, and surrounding areas to ensure a safe environment for both animals and staff. Operate farm machinery and power tools safely for various tasks such as cleaning, maintenance, and repairs. Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to moving feed, bedding, and other materials as needed. Handle horses with care, ensuring their well-being at all times. Experience Previous experience working with horses is mandatory. Familiarity with farm machinery and power tools is advantageous for this role. Experience in heavy lifting is essential due to the physical nature of the job. Basic math skills are required for managing supplies and inventory effectively. A background in gardening or landscaping can be beneficial for maintaining outdoor areas.
