Bar Manager Speakeasy Cocktail Bar in downtown Franklin seeking hospitality-driven craft cocktail bartenders who love well-made cocktails and creating welcoming, lively guest experiences. About Amendment 18 Amendment 18 is a speakeasy-style craft cocktail bar located in the heart of downtown Franklin, Tennessee. Hidden in the alley behind Main Street, the bar draws inspiration from the Prohibition era while celebrating the modern craft cocktail revival. Our space blends vintage character with an intimate lounge atmosphere where guests enjoy thoughtfully made cocktails, a curated whiskey selection, and knowledgeable bartenders who take hospitality seriously. At Amendment 18, we believe great bars are built on craft, conversation, and community — creating a place where classic cocktails, welcoming service, and memorable nights come together. About the Role We're looking for skilled bartenders who take pride in their craft and in creating a welcoming bar experience. In this role, you'll engage guests with confidence, prepare well-balanced cocktails that look as good as they taste, and deliver service that feels genuine and attentive. Our bartenders guide guests through the cocktail and whiskey program, maintain high standards of quality and consistency behind the bar, and help shape an intimate lounge atmosphere where great drinks, conversation, and attentive service define the experience. Key Responsibilities Welcome guests promptly and create an inviting, attentive bar experience from the moment they arrive Prepare classic and house cocktails with precision, consistency, and polished presentation Maintain proper bar prep and mise en place to support efficient service Guide guests through the cocktail and whiskey program by listening to preferences and offering thoughtful recommendations Maintain strong working knowledge of cocktail families, spirits, and featured whiskeys Introduce guests to the Spirit Society locker program and highlight special whiskey selections when appropriate Recommend small plates and pairings that complement cocktails and enhance the guest experience Anticipate guest needs and suggest additional beverages or menu items in a natural, service-driven way Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready bar and service station throughout service Support opening and closing duties including prep, restocking, and bar setup Process POS transactions accurately and responsibly Follow all Tennessee ABC laws and responsible alcohol service standards Work collaboratively with teammates to support busy service periods, events, and peak weekends Help maintain the refined yet welcoming atmosphere expected of a destination cocktail lounge Qualifications 3+ years bartending experience in a craft cocktail bar, upscale restaurant bar, or full-service bar program within a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality-driven concept Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirit categories, and foundational bar techniques Familiarity with American whiskey styles and interest in continuing to develop spirits knowledge Ability to execute cocktails with consistency, balance, and polished presentation Personable and confident engaging guests, offering recommendations, and creating a welcoming bar environment Demonstrates strong hospitality instincts including greeting guests promptly, acknowledging departures, and maintaining awareness of the room Ability to manage multiple tasks during service while maintaining composure and attention to detail Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative bar team Organized and disciplined in maintaining a clean, efficient, and well-stocked bar throughout service Professional, reliable, and able to stay composed in a fast-paced environment Team-oriented with strong communication and a positive service mindset Candidates should be comfortable preparing and discussing classic cocktails without reliance on recipe guides during service Certifications & Compliance Current TABC-Certified Server Permit (required) Whiskey, spirits, or cocktail education (BarSmarts, WSET Spirits, etc.) is a plus but not required Schedule & Physical Requirements Availability for nights, weekends, and special events Ability to stand for extended periods in a high-energy environment Ability to lift up to 30 lbs., including cases of spirits, wine, and bar supplies Why Work with Amendment 18 Hospitality-focused culture built on respect, teamwork, and genuine service Opportunity to work within a thoughtful whiskey and classic cocktail program Hands-on environment that encourages growth in spirits knowledge and cocktail technique Bar program that values quality ingredients, proper technique, and consistent execution Fast-paced, intimate cocktail bar in the heart of downtown Franklin Work alongside bartenders who care about classic cocktails, quality spirits, and genuine hospitality Competitive hourly pay plus tips Who Should Apply You enjoy people, appreciate thoughtfully made craft cocktails and the classics, and believe great hospitality should feel welcoming, inclusive, and unpretentious.
