Job Description
Become a Sip History Host Cocktail Class Host / Bartender, Nashville Lead fun, hands-on cocktail classes with Sip History (https://www.siphistory.co/) in Nashville. Help guests make great drinks, run the room, and put your personality and hospitality skills to work. Regular hosting shifts are during the day, with cleanup finished by 4 p.m. Qualified candidates receive free training, a free professional cocktail workshop, and a free Sip History cocktail class, including drinks. Prior bartending experience and impressive credentials are welcome, but they are not required. Showing up, following through, and being willing to learn matter here. Here's what we're looking for 1. Bring a printed resume. 2. Show up to an open call so we can meet you in person. 3. Come ready to learn. Be willing to take a professional cocktail workshop and learn our approach, even if you already have experience. Meet us in person Golden Sound, 610 Magazine Street, the Gulch, Nashville.
- Open calls start: Monday, September 14, and Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
- Monday, September 21, and Tuesday, September 22, 2026.
- Monday, September 28, and Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
- Monday, October 5, and Tuesday, October 6, 2026.
- 4 to 6 p.m. on all listed dates. Drop in on any listed date with your printed resume. No RSVP or prior application required. Interviews are in person. Free training for qualified candidates
- Qualified candidates will be invited to join regular guests at a real Sip History cocktail class for free, including drinks.
- Learn directly from Tommy Alchemy (https://www.instagram.com/tommyalchemy/), founder of Sip History, in a professional cocktail workshop scheduled after the open calls.
- For qualified candidates, the cocktail class, professional workshop, host training, and Sip History host certification are all free.
- Workshop attendance and Tommy's approval are required before you host independently.
- Learn the basics of four or five cocktails, the differences between spirits, and how to answer guests' questions. We will teach you our way of hosting.
- Quick learners may be ready for smaller groups after one to two weeks of training, with more time as needed. Plan for a learning period before your first paid hosting assignment. The work
- Run the room for a two-hour cocktail class. Teach the drinks, keep people engaged, and make the experience fun.
- 20% scripted, 80% improvised. Know your material, read the room, and be ready for questions. The work is fast-paced.
- Handle prep, setup, and cleanup. Be ready to welcome guests 30 minutes before class starts.
- Full-time hosts also capture a few short clips during the experience. Our team handles the editing. Daytime availability
- Start between 9 and 11 a.m., depending on class size. Finish cleanup and be completely out of the bar by 4 p.m.
- Keep daytime availability open four to six days a week. Class assignments are confirmed the evening before, and dependable coverage is essential.
- Recently, bookings have averaged around five days a week. Actual assignments depend on bookings.
- A Friday and Saturday only arrangement may be available for the right host.
- Regular hosting shifts leave evenings available for yourself or another job. Training workshops are scheduled separately. How you earn
- Base pay per guest.
- Gratuity.
- $5 for each five-star review.
- Product sales commission: 10% to 15% on syrups and 15% to 20% on larger packages and bundles.
