Job Details$8/hour + tipsPart-Time Weekends, late night, holiday availability requiredThe Victorian Bar in the heart of downtown Austin is a classic Texas inspired pub with elevated drinks, service, and atmosphere. The bar is located inside the historic Driskill Hotel, bringing in a diverse group of clients from across Texas and the world.
Job SummaryWe're seeking a dedicated and energetic Barback to join our dynamic beverage team. This role is essential to maintaining the speed, cleanliness, and organization that keep our guests experiences seamless and memorable.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Assist bartenders during service by restocking liquor, beer, wine, glassware, garnishes, and ice.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of all bar areas, including prep stations, coolers, and service wells.
Ensure all bar tools, utensils, and equipment are sanitized and properly stored.
Refill and rotate stock according to par levels and inventory procedures.
Remove and dispose of trash, recyclables, and empty kegs throughout the shift.
Communicate effectively with bartenders, servers, and managers to anticipate needs and prevent service delays.
Support opening and closing duties, ensuring the bar is guest-ready at all times.
Follow all company health, safety, and sanitation standards.
Uphold company values by maintaining professionalism and teamwork in a guest-focused environment.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
Active TABC certifications requiredMinimum of 1-year server experience requiredExcellent customer service and people skills requiredHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferredGood working knowledge of beverages and a willingness to learnAbility to prioritize job duties and manage time effectivelyAbility to read menus, safety documents, etc.
Prior experience with POS systems
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
