The Mesero Bartender prepares and serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Bartenders serve as ambassadors for Mesero's food and beverage selections by offering knowledgeable recommendations and preparing each drink with precision and care. This position plays an important role in the overall guest experience. Bartenders are expected to provide excellent service, maintain a welcoming and professional attitude, follow responsible alcohol-service requirements, and keep the bar clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout each shift.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES GUEST SERVICE
Welcome bar guests with a friendly and professional attitude. Provide attentive and courteous service throughout each guest's visit. Take food and beverage orders accurately. Engage with guests and create a welcoming atmosphere. Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly to requests. Check back with guests to ensure beverages, food, and service meet expectations. Handle routine guest concerns professionally. Escalate significant concerns or complaints to management when appropriate.
BEVERAGE PREPARATION
Prepare alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages for bar and restaurant guests. Follow Mesero recipes, measurements, presentation, and service standards. Prepare cocktails with accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail. Pour beer and wine according to established standards. Complete beverage orders for restaurant Servers promptly. Verify that each beverage meets Mesero quality standards before service. Maintain working knowledge of cocktail preparation and mixology techniques.
MENU KNOWLEDGE AND SALES
Maintain thorough knowledge of Mesero's beverage and food menus. Understand available cocktails, spirits, beer, wine, and nonalcoholic selections. Answer guest questions accurately and professionally. Offer appropriate food and beverage recommendations. Use suggestive selling to enhance the guest experience. Communicate questions about ingredients or dietary needs to the appropriate team member.
RESPONSIBLE ALCOHOL SERVICE
Verify that guests meet the legal drinking-age requirement before serving alcohol. Check guest identification according to legal and company requirements. Monitor guest alcohol consumption and behavior. Provide alcohol service responsibly and professionally. Refuse or discontinue alcohol service when required. Notify management immediately of possible intoxication, identification concerns, or unsafe behavior. Follow all state and local alcohol-service regulations. Maintain all required alcohol service certifications.
BAR SETUP AND CLEANLINESS
Set up the bar before service according to Mesero standards. Keep the bar clean, organized, and properly stocked throughout the shift. Replenish liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, glassware, ice, and other supplies. Clean and sanitize bar surfaces, tools, equipment, and glassware. Label, date, rotate, and properly store beverage ingredients. Follow proper storage and temperature-control procedures. Complete assigned opening, closing, and side-work duties. Report low inventory, equipment concerns, or product-quality issues to management.
POS AND PAYMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Use the point-of-sale system to enter food and beverage orders. Maintain accurate guest checks throughout the shift. Process cash and electronic payments accurately. Make correct change and follow established cash-handling procedures. Follow company requirements for voids, discounts, and other controlled transactions. Report payment problems or discrepancies to management promptly.
TEAMWORK AND RESTAURANT SUPPORT
Communicate effectively with Servers, Hosts, Server Assistants, kitchen team members, and managers. Support restaurant service during high-volume periods. Maintain an efficient flow of beverage orders for the dining room. Assist with restocking and cleaning responsibilities as needed. Follow all food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and security requirements. Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to the success of the restaurant team.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous bartending experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant or bar is preferred. Strong knowledge of drink preparation, mixology, beer, wine, and spirits. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong focus on guest hospitality. Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment. Ability to manage multiple guests, orders, and service-bar tickets. Experience using a restaurant's point-of-sale system is preferred. Must meet the minimum legal age requirement to prepare and serve alcohol. Must maintain all food and alcohol certifications required by applicable regulations. Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to stand and move behind the bar for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive beverage-preparation tasks. Ability to safely handle glassware, bar tools, and beverage equipment. Ability to lift and carry beverage cases, ice, kegs, and bar supplies up to 50 pounds. Ability to communicate clearly in a busy restaurant environment.
DFW AIRPORT REQUIREMENTS
Must successfully complete required employment and airport background screening. Must obtain and maintain all required DFW Airport identification and security credentials. Must comply with all airport security, access, and workplace requirements.
Pay:
$20.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 - 40.0 per week
