In this pivotal role, you will craft an exceptional wine and beverage experience for our guests by curating a diverse and high-quality selection, providing expert service, and inspiring our team. Your culinary expertise, wine knowledge, and leadership skills will elevate our offerings, ensuring every guest enjoys a memorable dining experience rooted in hospitality excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills in a vibrant environment dedicated to fine dining, innovative menu planning, and outstanding customer service. Responsibilities Curate and manage an extensive wine list, including selecting wines that complement the menu and appeal to diverse palates Lead the beverage program with a focus on quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction Provide expert wine service and educate guests on wine pairings, tasting notes, and wine regions Oversee menu planning for beverages, cocktails, and wine pairings in collaboration with culinary staff Train and mentor staff on proper serving techniques, food and beverage pairing, upselling strategies, and POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS Ensure compliance with food safety standards, alcohol regulations, and proper handling of beverages Drive sales through effective upselling techniques while maintaining excellent customer service standards Manage inventory control, ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate POS records for sales transactions Foster a team-oriented environment by leading with enthusiasm, providing ongoing feedback, and encouraging professional growth Requirements Proven experience as a Sommelier or Beverage Director in fine dining or upscale restaurant settings Extensive knowledge of wines, spirits, cocktails, and beverage trends; experience with wine service is essential Strong background in menu planning and culinary integration of beverages with food offerings Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; cashiering experience is a plus Excellent customer service skills with the ability to sell wine confidently to guests while creating a welcoming atmosphere Leadership experience in team management within the food and beverage industry Knowledge of food safety protocols, food handling procedures, and alcohol regulations Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Experience in banquet or catering settings is advantageous; fine dining experience preferred Join us to lead an inspiring beverage program where your expertise will delight guests and elevate their dining journey.
