We are looking for a reliable, efficient barback who can work with other staff members to ensure that our customers receive prompt, seamless service. The bar back will assist the bartender in cleaning the bar, ensuring the bar is well stocked with napkins, straws, glassware, garnishes, and all other necessities, and taking on other duties to support the bartender and ensure that the bar operates smoothly. You should be knowledgeable about menu items, attentive, and focused on providing the best possible service in a fast-paced environment. You should be passionate about working as part of a team to deliver excellent drinks and service to customers. You should be efficient, reliable, and perceptive with excellent communication and time management skills. Responsibilities Assist with all closing duties by restocking. Checking taps and appliances to confirm that they are working properly and changing out kegs when needed. Keeping the bar clean by wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping, removing soiled glassware, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, and emptying trash receptacles. Learning about menu items and memorizing cocktail recipes. Taking orders, pouring beer, bussing tables, opening tabs, and processing payments especially during peak hours. Speaking to customers, answering questions, handling complaints. Ensuring bar is well-stocked with ice, liquor, wine, and beer. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including clearing tables and resetting them for new guests. Communicate effectively with the bartender and servers. Handle cash transactions accurately using the cash register or POS systems. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries and assisting with any needs they may have during their dining experience. Support bartending staff when necessary, ensuring that drinks are served promptly. Follow all food handling and safety guidelines to ensure a safe dining environment. Requirements Must be 21 years of age. Must be able to work Sunday, Tuesday and Saturday nights from 5:30 pm to close. Previous experience in food service or hospitality is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with cash handling and operating cash registers or POS systems is advantageous. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with guests and team members. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. A positive attitude and willingness to help others, contributing to a collaborative team atmosphere. Current Food Handlers and Sips and Tips certification.
