For 60 years, TPC Wisconsin, formerly Cherokee Country Club, has served as Madison's only private facility to offer an 18-hole golf course, all-season golf range, indoor and outdoor tennis, pickleball, athletic training facility and outdoor pool. Our Champions Grille and event spaces host casual and fine dining opportunities of intimate proportions, 30 or less, and large celebrations of 200 plus guests. TPC Wisconsin also provides PGA recognized and award-winning golf instruction and fitting programs, structured member events, and social events for the whole family all year long. We are looking for enthusiastic bartenders and servers to provide an excellent guest experience. The right bartender and server will be able to create classic and innovative drinks and uplift the dining experience exceeding our members' expectations. Responsibilities Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar and restaurant patrons Interact with customers, take orders and serve food and drinks Assess customers' needs and preferences and make recommendations Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails according to recipes and standards Present bar menu Check identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience Comply with all food and beverage regulations Present menus and provide detailed information when asked (i.e. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
KNOW THE MENU!
! Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware and glasses Offer menu recommendations Up-sell additional menu items and add-ons Take accurate food and drinks orders Communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff via Point of Sale system Serve food and drink orders Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area Deliver checks and collect bill payments Carry dirty plates, glasses and silverware to kitchen for cleaning Follow all health department regulations Provide excellent customer service to guests Requirements 2+ years of experience as a bartender or server Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks Positive attitude and excellent communication skills Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean ServSafe Food Handlers certificate Hands-on experience with cash handling and Point of Sale system Basic math skills Excellent customer service attitude Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment Active listening and effective communication skills Team spirit Availability to work during operating hours (days, evenings, weekends, holidays)
