Job Description

About Us Nadi Plates is a family-owned Italian kitchen in Milwaukee. What started with our mom's cooking has grown into catering, food trucks, a stand at American Family Field — and this fall, our first restaurant on the East Side. We're building our bar program from scratch and looking for someone who can help us get it right. The Role We need a mixologist who can help us create a cocktail menu that fits who we are: Italian at heart, but with a twist. Think amaro-forward drinks, seasonal ingredients, Italian aperitivo culture — reimagined for a Milwaukee neighborhood spot. You'll develop the menu, then lead the bar during daily service. We are looking for someone who brings real knowledge of spirits, technique, and cocktail development to the table, and who's excited to build something alongside a team that knows food. This starts small. Early on, you'll work limited hours focused on menu development, tastings, and sourcing. As the restaurant opens, the role grows into leading the bar during regular service. What You'll Do Collaborate with ownership and our chef to develop a seasonal cocktail menu rooted in Italian flavors and traditions Source and recommend spirits, liqueurs, bitters, and ingredients that align with our identity Lead bartending during daily restaurant service once we open Train and mentor bar staff as the team grows Maintain inventory, manage bar costs, and minimize waste Keep the bar clean, stocked, organized, and in compliance with all health and liquor regulations Stay current on cocktail trends, techniques, and seasonal ingredients Help shape the overall guest experience at the bar What We're Looking For Strong working knowledge of spirits, cocktail technique, and flavor profiles Experience developing cocktail menus or beverage programs, not just pouring from an existing list Prior bartending experience in a craft cocktail or upscale casual environment Familiarity with Italian spirits and aperitivo culture is a big plus, but deep knowledge of the craft and a willingness to explore that world with us goes a long way Comfortable leading a bar during busy service Creative, collaborative, and open to feedback — you'll be working closely with a family team Knowledge of bar inventory management and cost control Must hold (or be willing to obtain) a valid bartender license and food handler certification Schedule Limited hours to start, focused on menu development and sourcing Transitioning to regular evening and weekend service shifts as the restaurant opens Room to grow as the program grows Pay & Perks $16-20/hour plus tips during service Creative input in building a bar program from the ground up Meals provided on shift Be part of a growing, family-run business with room to grow into a larger role
