We will hire a candidate who is successful in working independently, while also contributing as a team member for their department. We seek an incumbent who can be alert and attentive to provide a positive, safe milieu for the students in our care. Having been founded in 1984, The Heritage Community is one of the longest standing and established treatment programs for adolescents in the United States. Three shifts per week, 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Saturday night shift runs until 8:00 AM. Work schedule will be coordinated upon hire.Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to stay awake, alert, and attentive during the night, and energetic in the morning to assist the students. Demonstrated ability to successfully coach and mentor adolescents. Assertiveness to learn and continually enhance knowledge and understanding of mental health. Good energy and ability to work in all weather conditions. Engaging and empathetic character, with the balance of tenacity and determination. Good problem-solving, decisiveness, and teamwork skills. Proficient in communication and interpersonal-relationship skills.Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise the students during the night, providing a safe and secure, caregiving environment. Properly use a variety of mediation and intervention techniques to redirect students who may wake during the night, and need support and guidance during escalated moments. Wake the students in the morning and supervise them during their initial morning tasks. Assure that all paperwork and documentation requirements are met in an effective manner.Benefits
