We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Food Prep Worker to join our new business that is opening at the end of October. We are a high end convenience store that will have both food retail and made in house items such as sandwiches, fruit/veggie cups, charcuterie boards, overnight oats and other snacks. Our store has a new 400 sf prep kitchen on premise. This position reports directly to the store Owner. Responsibilities Prepare sandwiches, snacks and breakfast items according to recipes and quality standards. Portion and package prepared foods into retail-ready containers. Label and organize packaged products for sale. Stock refrigerated grab-and-go displays and open-air merchandisers. Receive and organize food deliveries. Rotate inventory using FIFO (First In, First Out) practices. Maintain clean and organized prep, storage, and refrigeration areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and food preparation equipment. Sanitize workstations and kitchen equipment throughout the shift. Assist with inventory organization and restocking supplies. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards. Qualifications Previous food preparation, deli, sandwich shop, café, or commercial kitchen experience preferred. Ability to work efficiently and maintain consistent quality. Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and food safety. Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently. Comfortable lifting up to 40 pounds and standing for extended periods. Food Handler Card (or ability to obtain one before starting). Availability for early morning shifts beginning at 5:00 AM.
