ROLE IS BASED IN A COLD STORAGE FACILITY FOR A MEAT WHOLESALER. THE SCHEDULE IS MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY, 6
00 AM TO 2:30 PM. Role Overview We are seeking a Quality Control Assistant to collaborate with our Quality Assurance department. Your primary focus will be upholding our rigorous standards for sanitation, regulatory compliance, and overall product excellence during every stage of manufacturing. This role involves conducting regular inspections, overseeing production workflows, and maintaining precise documentation. You will play a key part in ensuring that all items are processed, stored, and packaged in strict alignment with our internal protocols and industry safety guidelines. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented individual eager to develop their professional expertise within the food production sector. Core Responsibilities Conduct regular evaluations of raw ingredients, items currently in production, and final goods to ensure quality standards. Help maintain a safe and compliant production floor by monitoring staff adherence to established food safety protocols. Verify that all products meet required temperature specifications throughout the manufacturing process. Review items for packaging accuracy, labeling, weight, and visual quality to ensure they meet all product specifications. Support the team in overseeing HACCP protocols and various food safety initiatives. Maintain precise records by completing inspection reports, temperature logs, and quality control documentation. Promptly notify the Quality Assurance Manager or Supervisor regarding any identified safety or quality discrepancies. Contribute to the investigation of quality concerns and help document necessary corrective measures. Observe sanitation and hygiene standards across all active production zones. Ensure that all production surfaces and equipment are kept in accordance with established sanitation guidelines. Support the QA/QC team by assisting with necessary product testing and sampling procedures. Help keep all quality-related activities, production records, and inspection logs organized and up to date. Provide assistance during third-party, regulatory, customer, or internal audits as required. Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by following all GMPs, HACCP procedures, and safety policies. Uphold a sanitary and orderly workspace at all times. Execute additional quality control tasks as requested by management. Requirements Prior background in Food Processing, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, or a similar manufacturing setting is preferred. A high school diploma or its equivalent is preferred. Familiarity with fundamental food safety principles is considered an asset. Experience with GMP or HACCP protocols is highly desirable but not mandatory. Demonstrate a keen eye for detail to effectively spot inconsistencies or quality defects. Show proficiency in maintaining accurate production logs and completing necessary paperwork. Possess foundational computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Office. Demonstrate the ability to adhere to detailed written instructions and operational procedures. Exhibit strong organizational and communication capabilities. Show the ability to function effectively both as an individual contributor and as a team member. Be comfortable working within a food processing and manufacturing facility. Demonstrate the physical stamina to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for the duration of a shift. Be willing to work in refrigerated or temperature-regulated environments as needed. Desired Qualifications Understanding of HACCP principles Knowledge of GMP standards Background in food safety Experience working in a USDA-regulated facility Proficiency in monitoring product temperatures Experience with quality documentation and inspections Background in meat processing or food production High level of attention to detail Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are a plus Operational Environment This position is situated within a food production facility where you will frequently work in temperature-controlled or refrigerated zones. You must be prepared to utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) and strictly adhere to all hygiene, sanitation, and safety regulations.
