Job Summary:
In a fine dining setting, the server assistant role is far more technical than a busser in casual establishments. We are searching for an employee who will be responsible for maintaining a seamless, elegant atmosphere through silent, precise service and rigorous attention to etiquette. This position requires prior service knowledge and team dedication.
Key Responsibilities:
Formal Table Etiquette :
Adhere to strict service protocols, such as the \"open hand\" method (never reaching across a guest) and specific rules for serving from the left and clearing from the right. Precise Table Clearing & \"Crumbing\" : Remove used plates after guests at the table have finished their courses, use a \"crumber\" tool to discreetly sweep breadcrumbs from the table linens.
Silent Service & Table Maintenance :
Maintain tables throughout the meal by clearing empty glassware, replacing soiled silverware between courses, and replenishing linens without interrupting guest conversation.
Water & Bread Service :
Actively monitor and refill water glasses and serve artisanal bread according to specific house protocols.
Expert Resetting :
Prepare tables for new guests with \"impeccable\" precision, ensuring silverware is perfectly aligned, glassware is polished and smudge-free, and linens are centered.
Polishing Glassware & Silverware :
A significant portion of \"behind-the-scenes\" work involves hand-polishing every piece of cutlery and glass to ensure a high-gloss, spotless finish.
Professional Presentation :
Maintain an impeccable personal appearance, including a spotless, pressed uniform and meticulous grooming, as our professionalism sets the tone for the entire atmosphere.
Requirements:
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years in full service restaurant
Communication & Interpersonal Skills :
Must excel at clear, courteous communication with both guests and internal teams. Keen Attention to
Detail :
Every small detail, from the alignment of silverware to the setting of a table linen, must meet rigorous standards
Base Pay:
