Primary responsibility for routine duties involving the use of standard procedures to accept and record payment for food and beverages in the Cafeteria. EEO/AA/Disability/Veteran Responsibilities 1. Operates and programs the cash register. Operates cash registers according to department guidelines so that all transactions are accurately and promptly recorded. Ensures that the correct prices are used in the program by maintaining knowledge of all food prices. When operating cash registers, handles customers in a courteous and cooperative manner. 2. Maintains credit sales reports as required. Follows guidelines on reporting all sales charges to credit accounts by listing the sales in the appropriate books. Operates cash register to ensure that credit transactions are accurately recorded on it. 3. Cleans and stocks counters with supplies. Maintains work area in a neat and sanitary condition 100% of the time during service. Sets up and maintains the counters with supplies that are needed. 4. Receives money from the safe in accordance with guidelines. Notifies the supervisors that they need money from the safe, how much, and in what denomination. Responsible for the verification of the register bank at opening and closing 100% of the time. Reports discrepancies to the supervisor immediately Qualifications
