Job Description

The banquet captain leads the flawless execution of food and beverage service at events. They act as the primary liaison between the client, guests, kitchen staff, and servers. Their responsibilities span reviewing event orders, managing staff assignments, overseeing setup and breakdown, and ensuring high-end hospitality.
Compensation:
$18 - $20 hourly
Responsibilities:
Event Execution & Client Relations Review BEOs:
Read and interpret Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to ensure room setups, menus, and timelines align with client expectations.
Pre-Shift Briefings:
Lead pre-service meetings to assign server sections, review menu items, and align kitchen and bar timing.
Client Liaison:
Greet the event host, address immediate requests, and ensure seamless service from the first course to dessert.
Staff & Operations Management Delegate Duties:
Direct and supervise banquet servers, bartenders, and support staff during events to guarantee efficiency. Coordinate with
Culinary Teams:
Work directly with the head chef to ensure food is coursed, timed, and presented perfectly.
Set-up & Breakdown Oversight:
Monitor the placement of tables, linens, centerpieces, and place settings to meet venue quality standards.
Guest Experience & Administration Troubleshoot Issues:
Address and resolve guest complaints or requests promptly and professionally.
Quality & Safety Compliance:
Enforce health, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service regulations.
Billing & Reporting:
Process final checks, track gratuity distributions, and submit shift reports to management.
Qualifications:
