Assistant Event Coordinator/Banquet Manager Testa's Banquet Facility Southington, CT Job Details Part-time | Full-time $19 - $22 an hour 7 hours ago Qualifications Basic math Wedding planning In-person customer service Banquet hall experience High school diploma or GED Numeracy Attention to detail Hospitality industry experience Banquet experience Contracts Full Job Description We are looking for an Assistant Event Coordinator to plan and organize events ranging from Weddings, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Religious Gatherings, Corporate Events, & more. An event coordinator must be well-organized, competent, and have great customer service skills. Communication skills and attention to detail will set apart the best among the candidates. Must have enthusiasm and passion for the hospitality industry and you'll be our ideal candidate. Responsibilities Generate leads using social media marketing, and other forms of advertising Respond to leads via phone and email Give site tours of the venue Contract negotiation - basic math skills are required. Main point of contact throughout the planning process Direct and assist staff with event set up Do final checks at the day of the event (e.g. tables, decor) to ensure everything meets standards Oversee event happenings, follow timeline to ensure event runs smoothly Miscellaneous office work Skills Minimum of 2 years experience in the wedding and event industry (Event Coordinator, Banquet Captain, etc.) Proficient in MS Office Outstanding communication skills Well-organized with multi-tasking skills Able to handle stress and remain calm Problem-solving ability Details 20-40 hours per week - opportunity for more hours during peak season Job requires consistent office hours during the week and weekend hours (evenings) based on scheduled events. Ability to lift a minimum of 25lbs is required
