Catering/Kitchen Assistant - Full Time Opus Coffee - 3.3 Gainesville, FL Job Details Full-time $18 an hour 17 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Courier driving Package delivery Full Job Description Join our Opus Coffee team as a Catering/Kitchen Assistant. This full-time position is a dual role that combines customer-service oriented Catering service with back of house Kitchen food preparation. You will be involved in all levels of the Catering production process, from prepping the delicious coffee and treats to delivering and setting up at events. You'll then finish the day by helping to prep (and maybe even testing some recipes for) our house-made sandwiches, snacks, and drink ingredients alongside the Kitchen staff. An ideal candidate is strong in punctuality, attention to detail, customer service, and problem solving!
Work Schedule:
Guaranteed 30+ hours/week Weekdays, 5am-1pm
Position Expectations Include:
Preparing brewed coffee, iced coffee, and other specialty beverages for catering Preparing and packaging food and drink items for catering and coffee bars Participating in creation of new recipes for rotating and seasonal food items Loading and delivering catering orders to locations around town (generally w/in 5-mile radius) Unloading and setting up catering stations at delivery locations Cleaning and organizing the kitchen, especially catering area, with rest of kitchen team Completing and organizing weekly inventory for catering Effectively communicating with Catering and Kitchen managers Efficiently managing several concurrent tasks on a tight timeline Compensation for this position is $18.00/hour base plus our tip pool (averaging $3.75 - $4.75) and Paid Time Off accrual with opportunities for increases starting within 6 months of hire.
Position Requirements:
Available beginning no later than 5am each weekday At least one year (12 months) of customer-facing food service industry or catering, serving, hospitality, or event management experience; back of house/food preparation experience is a plus Able to lift 50lbs without strain and deliver catering in varying, year-round weather conditions Clean driving record and able to drive company vehicle
