Non-Exempt Direct Supervisor Restaurant Manager Job Overview The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for setting up, maintaining, and breaking down the hotel breakfast buffet while delivering a welcoming and attentive guest experience. This role ensures all food and beverage items are properly stocked, presented, and maintained at safe temperatures throughout service. This position operates in a fast-paced morning service environment requiring constant movement and guest interaction. The role is primarily indoors within breakfast and dining areas and requires strong attention to detail, hospitality focus, and the ability to work early morning shifts. Success in this role requires efficiency, consistency, and a strong guest service mindset. Job Responsibilities Breakfast Setup & Buffet Execution Set up breakfast buffet according to established property standards, including chafing dishes, serving utensils, signage, and food displays Ensure all food and beverage items are properly arranged, labeled, and ready for service Complete opening side work duties to prepare dining and buffet areas Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing buffet presentation throughout service Food & Beverage Monitoring Continuously monitor buffet stations and replenish food, beverages, and supplies before depletion Maintain proper food temperatures throughout service in compliance with safety standards Communicate low inventory levels or quality concerns to kitchen staff promptly Remove and properly store or discard food items at the end of service Guest Service & Hospitality Greet guests warmly and provide a welcoming breakfast experience Assist guests with questions regarding menu items, ingredients, and allergens Provide tableside service including coffee, juice, water, and tea refills Clear and reset tables promptly to maintain a clean and inviting dining environment Cleanliness, Sanitation & Breakdown Maintain cleanliness of buffet stations, dining area, and surrounding workspaces throughout service Clean and sanitize all buffet equipment, chafing dishes, serving utensils, and stations after service Complete closing side work duties including breakdown of buffet setup Follow all food safety and sanitation standards at all times Operational Support & Communication Assist kitchen and F&B team members as needed to ensure smooth breakfast operations Maintain a professional appearance and positive, service-oriented attitude Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding guest needs or operational issues Assist in other food & beverage outlets or dining areas as needed
Job Requirements Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of food service, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred. Experience in hotel breakfast or buffet service preferred
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to set up and maintain breakfast buffet to property standards Ability to monitor and replenish buffet items efficiently Strong guest service and communication skills Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices Ability to maintain cleanliness and organization throughout service Strong attention to detail and presentation standards Ability to work early morning shifts, including weekends and holidays Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Positive, professional, and service-oriented demeanor Ability to follow instructions and complete side work independently Flexibility to assist in other F&B areas as needed
Certifications:
Food safety certification preferred (or required per local regulations).
Travel required:
No travel required; role is property-based Physical requirements: Constant standing throughout entire shift in buffet and dining areas Frequent walking, reaching, bending, pushing/pulling, and use of motor skills Occasional crouching, kneeling, and balancing Frequent lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs (food trays, chafing dishes, beverages); occasional up to 50 lbs This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
